The BID at “XIN”, the ICOGRADA WORLD DESIGN CONGRESS 2009.

From 23rd to 31st October, the ICOGRADA WORLD DESIGN CONGRESS 2009, will be held in Beijing under the subject “XIN”. Ruth Klotzel, Brazilian graphic designer and a member of the Advisory Committee and of the Ibero-American Design Biennial chair, and Gloria Escribano, the BID coordinator and a member of the Board of Directors of DIMAD, will be there to present the IBERO-AMERICAN DESIGN BIENNIAL.

Under the topic “Ibero-America Designs”, they will present the BID project on 27th November (15:50 hr), on the subject "A Balance".

Their participation is an opportunity to spread what Latin American, Portuguese and Spanish design is doing and to promote this international project , now preparing its next edition 2010.

DIMAD is attending for the first time this event that gets together graphic designers from all around the world, as a new ICOGRADA member, thanks to the cooperation from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to present the BID.

Organised by DIMAD, the Madrid Designers’ Association, at the Central de Diseño – Matadero Madrid, and sponsored by the Foundation Banco Santander, the BID has had cooperation from various Spanish state institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/AECID (Spanish acronym for Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development) and the State Secretariat for Ibero-America, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Science and Innovation/ ddi (Sociedad Estatal para el Desarrollo del Diseño y la Innovación- State Organisation for the Development of Design and Innovation), and support from the SEGIB (Ibero-American General Secretariat) and Madrid City Council.
